Continuous monitoring and automation are buzzy words in the industry, but what do they really mean? Monitoring and automation can be applied at various levels and layers in an environment in order to meet a wide variety of security and compliance objectives.
In this webinar, Matt Cooper, Senior Manager of Privacy, Risk, and Compliance at Vanta, and Rob Picard, Senior Manager of Security at Vanta, will detail common use cases for security and compliance monitoring and automation to enhance your security posture.

Alex Grohmann – Founder, Sicher Consulting
Alex Grohmann has over two decades of experience in technology-related information security, risk management and data privacy. During his career, he has worked at both the state and Federal level, and his private sector involvement has spanned from energy to financial services. He is the founder and operator of Sicher Consulting, LLC. Mr. Grohmann holds industry certifications of CISSP, CISA, CISM and CIPT. He holds two undergraduate degrees from Florida State University as well as an MBA from UMUC.
Mr. Grohmann is a Fellow at the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA), an international organization of information security professionals. He is the recipient of their international ‘Honor Roll’ for his lifetime contributions to the information security community. He has served on the board of directors for the Northern Virginia chapter of ISSA for over ten years, including as president for three. During his time, the chapter won the Chapter of Year.
He is a graduate of the FBI’s Citizens’ Academy and served on the board of directors for the Washington DC chapter of InfraGard for four years. Currently Mr. Grohmann serves on the board directors of Northern Virginia Community College’s Workforce Development taskforce, NOVA Cybersecurity Advisory Board and is a mentor at MACH 37, the Virginia cyber security accelerator. He also sits on the IT sector coordinating council (IT-SCC).

Rob Picard – Security Lead, Vanta
Rob leads Vanta’s internal security program. He has spent almost 8 years in the security industry, including time as a penetration tester, an early hire on Robinhood’s security team, and a Y Combinator backed founder.

Matt Cooper – Sr. Manager, Privacy, Risk & Compliance, Vanta
Matt leads the Privacy & Compliance team at Vanta. He has spent his 20+ year career in security and information technology. Prior to joining Vanta, Matt was the US Director for the Cyber, Risk & Advisory practice at BSI where he led an information security consultancy providing risk management and readiness consulting for common industry frameworks such as ISO 27001, SOC2, HIPAA, and the PCI DSS. Matt also led the US Data Privacy practice and worked as a contract Data Protection Officer (DPO) for customers in ad-tech, healthcare, and marketing, helping customers comply with ever changing global data privacy regulations including GDPR and CCPA. At Vanta Matt works closely with audit partners, advises customers on security and compliance, and provides input to the product team.
