Overview
The vCISO SIG is holding private meetings every quarter in 2026. The first one is scheduled for Thursday March 5th from 1:00-3:00PM ET.
This meeting is only open to ISSA members who have been accepted into the vCISO SIG. The event registration link has been sent to each vCISO SIG member’s ISSA Portal Message Center Inbox (click here to access the January Chapter Leaders Meeting recording to learn how to access your individual ISSA Message Center inbox). Once you register for this event, you will be registered for all 2026 scheduled vCISO Zoom meetings.
The 2026 meetings are scheduled for March 5th, June 4th, September 3rd, and December 3rd. All are from 1:00-3:00PM ET. These events will not be recorded.

The goal of the vCISO SIG is to create a community for virtual / fractional CISO/CSOs that will provide professional fellowship and support, technical insight, access to best practices, help improve their services to clients, and reduce stress from their work life.

David Lam – Partner, Miller Kaplan
For almost 40 years, split nearly evenly between Information Security and Information Technology, David has been managing information including custom software development, systems management, and information security. As a former Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), and Stakeholder Centered Executive Coach, David brings a holistic, highly integrated, and disciplined view of information management.
He honed his craft at a nonprofit, in the corporate realm, at a university, and as a consultant. He is a Certified Six Sigma Black Belt from ASQ and excels at bringing these disparate disciplines together into a coherent and efficient practice for his clients. David has also co-authored The New IQ, a book about how to better communicate effectively.
Robert Felps – CEO, CyberCompass

Robert strives to simplify the complex. He’s spent years working on large, complex problems and providing streamlined, automated workflow solutions that provide huge savings to his vast array of clients, who often say “I didn’t know you could make it work this easily.”

Robert is fueled by passion to serve others and make a difference. As CyberCompass’ CEO his goal is for companies to become cyber resilient by providing a standardized base, yet customizable cybersecurity, privacy, and compliance program to survive and thrive in asymmetrical cyberwarfare that every company is facing today. He has spoken nationally on his unique approach to cybersecurity, privacy, and compliance.
In his free time, apparently between Midnight and 5AM, Robert enjoys playing on heavy equipment (his wife refers to them as toys) at his ranch in Texas.
