Janelle Hsia – Principal, Privacy SWAN Consulting

Janelle Hsia is a trusted advisor for strategic and tactical decision-making within organizations of all sizes.  She focuses on privacy and security while bringing a diverse background in leadership, business, security, privacy, and technology spanning over 20 years.  Her experience integrating privacy with security and technology helps companies operationalize their privacy and security requirements.  She creates comprehensive and tailored data governance programs for SMBs with a global presence.  Her passion is privacy and data protection training and awareness.  This fall, she is teaching a class on Privacy and Technology at the University of Colorado in Boulder.    She is an ISSA Privacy SIG Tri-Chair and one of our 2022 Volunteers of the Year.  She is a member of the IEEE Digital Privacy Working Group and an IAPP Official Training Partner. She holds the following certifications CIPM, CIPT, CIPP/US/E, CISA, PMP, and GSLC.

R. Jason Cronk – President, Institute of Operational Privacy Design

With over two decades of experience in principle and trust consulting, R. Jason Cronk is a seasoned privacy engineer, developer, lawyer, author of the IAPP textbook “Strategic Privacy by Design,” Section Leader of the IAPP’s Privacy Engineering Section, and founder and president of the Institute of Operational Privacy Design, a non-profit organization of privacy professionals which seeks to define and drive the adoption of common and comprehensive standards to protect individuals’ privacy.

His knowledge and involvement reaches across the spectrum as an active member of the academic, engineering, legal and professional privacy communities and a pioneering voice in the development of privacy by design. Whether it is writing books, developing models and frameworks, or training companies and individuals alike, he is tirelessly advocating for privacy across the globe.

Betty Burke – COO/Secretary, ISSA International

Betty currently serves on the ISSA International Board of Directors and is a past President of the MN-ISSA chapter.  Betty has over twenty years’ experience in Information Technology and Information Security in positions of progressive responsibility and technical expertise. She has worked on information security planning, developing and delivering security programs. She is respected as a decision-maker and creative problem solver with demonstrated ability to achieve desired results while maintaining effective team cooperation. She has worked with several security regulations and standards including HIPAA, ISO17799, COBIT, Payment Card Industry Standard, NIST Standards and IRS Publication 1075. Betty is CISSP and CISA certified.

Michelle Duquette – Cyber Security Advisor, Battelle

Michelle Duquette is a Cybersecurity Advisor who has supported Government, military and Fortune 500 companies. Through her career, Michelle has advised on implementation and effectiveness of information security programs, Cybersecurity policy management, and has been a part of integrated product teams, providing information risk management and security implementation recommendations. Michelle Duquette currently works with Battelle as a Senior Research Scientist, previously as a Senior Consultant for Booz Allen Hamilton, and a Software Engineer with Lockheed Martin. Michelle holds a M.S. Computer Science from the George Washington University, and a B.S. in Information Management and Technology from Syracuse University. In addition, Michelle is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH).
