Randy is the Chief Information Security Officer of Virginia Tech and the Director of Virginia Tech’s IT Security Laboratory and has 25 years experience as a systems administrator, IT auditor, and security specialist. He is a co-author of the original SANS Top 10 Internet Threats, the SANS Top 20 Internet Threats, the SANS Consensus Roadmap for Defeating DDoS Attacks, and the SANS Incident Response: Step-by-Step guides. Randy is currently a senior instructor for the SANS Institute and has taught a wide variety of courses over the years. Currently, he can be found teaching SEC440: Critical Security Controls: Planning, Implementing, and Auditing and SEC566: Implementing and Auditing the Critical Security Controls on a regular basis.
Dennis Miller is the founder, president, and Security Architect of Talent Cyber Security (TCS) located in Albany Oregon. TCS focuses on supporting and empowering local small and mid-sized businesses with information risk management, security, compliance, and business continuity. Mr. Miller has a bachelor’s degree in business/Information Systems, a master’s in Information Security Management, and is CISSP certified. He is an active member of the Technology Association of Oregon (TAO) and the ISSA Eugene Oregon chapter. His 25 + years as CIO and IT Manager of enterprise organizations in the finance, manufacturing, and retail business sectors give him significant experience with risk management, compliance and security.
Jake Williams is an accomplished infosec professional with almost two decades of industry experience. After spending more than a decade in the US Intelligence Community performing various missions in offensive and defensive cyber, Jake founded Rendition Infosec where he leads a team of professionals performing adversary emulation, incident response, malware reverse engineering, forensics, and exploit development. He is an accomplished conference speaker and is a recognized leader in the infosec community. Jake loves teaching and mentoring other information security professionals and teaches thousands of information security professionals annually.
