Berrin Serdar, M.D., Ph.D. is the Co-founder of Cloud Privacy Labs located in Denver, Colorado. Her company focuses on privacy-conscious technology solutions (ConsentGrid®, Layered Schemas Architecture) for organizations that collect, process, and exchange personal data. Berrin is trained as a medical doctor and earned her Ph.D. in environmental health sciences. She spent several years in academia as a faculty member of public health where she designed and directed population-based research studies in environmental and occupational health and epidemiology. Her more recent work focuses on data privacy and public health implications, particularly about the privacy of sensitive information and semantic harmonization of health data. She is a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), Society of Physician Entrepreneurs (SoPE), and MyData Global organization.
