The Modernization Paradox: Why Security Leaders Must Transform Faster Than the Threats They Face

Presented at the April Cyber Executive Forum 2026.

Session date:April 23, 2026
Session time:3:30 PM – 4:15 PM

“The Modernization Paradox explores the defining challenge of 2026: organizations must modernize at unprecedented speed while facing the first wave of autonomous, AI orchestrated cyberattacks. Recent incidents—including the GTG 1002 campaign, where attackers used Anthropic’s Claude Code to autonomously execute 80–90% of a multi stage intrusion—demonstrate that AI has become an operator, not a tool. This shift collapses detection windows, amplifies supply chain fragility, and accelerates fraud and impersonation at industrial scale.

Inside the enterprise, modernization demands new cultural norms: AI hygiene for every employee, identity vigilance, secure by design engineering, rapid incident reporting, and disciplined data stewardship. Outside the enterprise, modernization requires deep partnerships across AI vendors, cloud providers, open source ecosystems, regulators, and sector wide intelligence networks. Security is no longer a department—it is a distributed responsibility and a shared defense.

This session delivers a blueprint for security leaders navigating the modernization paradox: how to modernize boldly, defend collectively, and lead culturally in an era where adversaries operate at machine speed. Attendees will leave with a clear understanding of the internal transformations and external partnerships required to secure AI accelerated innovation and build resilient, future ready organizations.”

Another great event that’s part of our ongoing Cyber Executive Forum series.
