The 2026 International Board Elections

Call for Nominations is Now Open. 

Serving on the International Board of Directors provides a unique opportunity to steer the course of ISSA, elevate the professionalism and impact of security practitioners, shape the future of the cybersecurity profession, and cultivate your personal leadership abilities.

Positions up for Election are as follows:

  • President – [3-year term]
  • Directors – [2 open seats; 3-year terms]

Eligibility

For the role of Director, all candidates must be an experienced chapter leader, ISSA Fellow, or have comparable experience (per the ISSA By-Laws). All candidates for the role of Officer (President, Vice President, Secretary or Treasurer) must have previously served a full term as an Officer or Director on the ISSA International Board of Directors.

All candidates and campaign activities must follow the election policies.

Information on the responsibilities of the International Board of Directors can also be found in Article VI of the ISSA By-Laws.

Nomination Process

All Nominations must be received by 5:00 p.m. US Eastern Time on June 19, 2026.

  • Candidates may be nominated by their chapters or sitting members of the International Board.
  • Nominated candidates are required to submit the candidate application form.

Each nominated candidate must submit their application form along with the following documents prior to the nomination deadline:

  • Candidate biography*
  • Statement of goals to achieve in the position
  • Statement of Commitment
  • Confidentiality Statement
  • Photo, 3”H x 4”W, 300 dpi, jpg or gif only
  • Optional: Candidate may upload a three-minute video to articulate their goals statement to ISSA voting members
  • Optional: Candidate may participate in a “Meet the Candidates” webinar to share their goals and vision to ISSA voting members. The webinar date and time to be announced
  • Optional: Candidate may submit an additional statement listing credentials, certifications, degrees or additional background information.

*Each candidate will be limited to one column space in the ISSA Journal, a maximum of 400 words, for their biography and statement of goals.

Identical biographies, goals and photos will be published in all media.
