The ISSA International AIM program is highlighting various chapters throughout the month of January which is recognized as National Mentorship Month in the United States. In this article, we are highlighting the North Texas ISSA (NTXISSA) Mentorship Program: Driving Cybersecurity Growth
The North Texas ISSA Mentorship Program is dedicated to advancing careers in cybersecurity by connecting mentors and mentees based on their expertise and interests. in 2024, the program had made a significant impact, successfully creating 20 mentoring pairs that fostered professional growth and development for participants.
Mentors provide not only technical guidance but also career roadmaps and professional advice, ensuring mentees gain a well-rounded experience. To recognize their efforts, mentors earn CPE hours for their time, with tracking and feedback facilitated through a dedicated log sheet on our website.
The multi-level Mentorship program has proven to be a transformative initiative, empowering participants to achieve their goals and contribute meaningfully to the cybersecurity community.
NTXISSA Chapter Members can apply to be either a mentor or a mentee directly on the dedicated “Mentor” page of the chapter website: https://www.ntxissa.org/programs/mentorship
On the site you will see how to complete the application process and get access to the Mentor/Mentee Log Sheet. The log sheet for NTXISSA Mentorship Program serves as a vital tool for tracking and documenting the interactions and progress between mentors and mentees. Its primary purpose is to provide a structured framework for recording key details such as meeting dates, topics discussed, goals set, and feedback exchanged during mentoring sessions. Additionally, the log sheet facilitates accountability, fosters communication, and helps evaluate the effectiveness of the mentorship program. Overall, the purpose of a log sheet in NTXISSA Mentorship Program is to enhance the mentoring experience, promote continuous learning, and maximize the benefits for both mentors and mentees.
