David Vaughn – Chairperson for Education & Professional Development, ISSA International Board of Directors
David Vaughn is a seasoned Information Security Executive with 20+ years of corporate security leadership and risk mitigation experience across a range of sectors. Recognized for demonstrating a natural aptitude for motivating high performing teams in driving information security, as well as for optimizing threat identification and mitigation, He has a verifiable history of contributing directly to company security success throughout his career. Professional focal points include information security leadership, team development, data analysis, enterprise mobility and network security infrastructure design and testing. Delivering superior administration on the latter areas of expertise requires utilization of effective communication skills, strategic planning skills, as well as technical acumen, data analysis, people management and resource management to support efficiency and maximum returns.
David is currently a DoD Civilian with the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) working with the Joint Warfighting Cloud Capability. Prior to his role with the DoD he was the Chief Security Advisor, for Threat Intelligence with Equinix. Under his leadership, he held accountability for the Cyber Threat Intelligence Global Practice. David also led a high impact team accountable for processing over 3.5 million Indicators of Compromise a day. David also liaised with senior leadership, security teams, and associated stakeholders to ensure the company’s Information Security support structure was driving the business forward with minimal expenditures.
Colleagues describe David as a progressive, driven, down-to-earth, information security and risk mitigation expert who can be relied on to offer superior solutions that deliver profitable results on time and under budget.
In addition to his civilian career, David has been serving in the US Army Reserves for 25 years. He is currently a Cyber Branch Qualified Chief Warrant Officer 4 currently assigned to the 75th Innovation Command. Prior to his assignment with the 75th Innovation Command, David was the first Cyber Branch Warrant Officer to serve at the Pentagon where he provided significant contributions to the formation of the Enterprise Cloud Management Agency. He is considered an expert in both offensive and defensive cyberwarfare.
David has served on the ISSA International Board of Directors for six consecutive years (2016-2022) and has been appointed a role as a Board Advisor upon the competition on his term.Â

Vijay Chauhan is Senior Director of Product Marketing at Illumio, where he leads Product Launches and Content. Prior to Illumio, Vijay spent 4+ years at Splunk running Product Management and Strategic Alliances for Splunk’s Security business. Vijay started his career as a Security Practitioner in Financial Services, spending 7+ years at Barclays Bank, handling core information security functions including Security Operations, Risk, Security Engineering, Application Security, and Identity & Access Management. Vijay has a BS in Computer Science from Cambridge, MA in Sanskrit from UPenn, and MS in Computer Science from Stanford.

John Donovan is a cyber-security, technology, and business leader based in Silicon Valley. He is an active member of the cyber-security community in the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond. John has been a speaker and participant in webinars, private security events, and conferences such as RSA Conference, defcon, BSides, Identity World, and Cornerstones of Trust.
John is passionate about developing the next generation of cyber-security engineers and leaders. He has partnered with businesses, non-profits, and educational institutions to bring security content and opportunities to students and people looking to make a career change to cyber-security. John is past president and director-at-large for the Silicon Valley ISSA ( https://sv-issa.org/ ) and is a member of other security groups such as OWASP and ISLF.foundation. He has been active with ISSA International (https://www.issa.org/ ) and is a past member of the ISSA CISO Advisory Council.
In his day job, John builds and runs security programs and Chief Information Security Officer for Malwarebytes. Past professional positions include developing and managing Security, Risk Management, IT, and Engineering programs for Illumio, Veracode, NetApp, Xilinx, and other security and technology companies.
