ISSA Welcomes Chapter in the Philippines

The Information Systems Security Association, the industry's largest not-for-profit association of information security professionals around the world, is pleased to welcome our latest chapter, Philippines.

As issues of global regulatory compliance grow, it is more important than ever for information security professionals to belong to the ISSA and for chapters and regions to collaborate and share best practices. The ISSA International Board of Directors stands ready to assist the development of new chapters in any part of the world and facilitate speaker recruitment for regional events. 1st Winner of Free RSA Conference Passes

Enter Now for February 15 Drawing

Jason Joy, a network security engineer for Adobe Systems, Incorporated, is the first winner of a full conference pass for RSA Conference USA 2008. The drawing was held on February 1.

Three more complimentary full conference passes will be given to active ISSA members to attend the conference, scheduled for April 7-11 in San Francisco. You can enter to win one of these passes by completing the entry form on the ISSA website, https://www.issa.org/Members/RSAContest.php. Your ISSA ID number and password are required for log in.

Upcoming drawings will take place on February 15 and 29 with a single winner on the 15th and two winners on 29th. You only need to enter once to be included in all subsequent drawings. Those selected will receive email notification from ISSA International following each drawing. Results will be announced in eNews.

Winners will be responsible for their own transportation, lodging and incidental expenses.

Nominations Sought for ISSA International Board of Directors

At-Large Members May Be Nominated By Petition

Chapter and Board Nominations must be received by March 30, 12 Midnight US Pacific Time
Petition Nominations must be received by March 23, 12 Midnight, US Pacific Time

ISSA members in good standing who have responsibility for or active involvement with information systems security or supply information systems security consulting services are being sought for leadership positions on the 2008-2009 ISSA International Board of Directors.
There are three ways a candidate can be nominated:

ISSA members who belong to a chapter should be nominated by their chapter. See sample statement of support.
At-Large members need to be nominated by a nomination petition signed by a minimum of 25 members in good standing. Petitions must be received no later than March 23, 12 Midnight, US Pacific Time.
Sitting ISSA Board members may submit a nomination.

Each nomination must be accompanied by a Statement of Commitment form, photo, biography and the goals the candidate wishes to achieve as a member of the ISSA Board.

Petitions received after midnight on March 23 and nominations from chapters and Board members received after midnight on March 30 will not be considered.
